"Gibson Custom Shop 2006 Flying V Hendrix - Hand Painted
Rick listed The Jimi Hendrix Experience as 'required listening' for his early group Fuse. Jimi favored the Fender Stratocaster, but also played Gibson guitars when he needed a thicker tone.
The Flying V model was ahead of its time when released in 1958, but due to low consumer interest, the model was only produced for one year. The world finally seemed ready for a reissue in 1967. Jimi bought his brand new, and hand painted a psychedelic pattern on the finish using his girlfriend's nail polish.
Gibson Custom Shop studied photos to create an exact reproduction. The Hendrix Estate granted licensing and approved a limited run of 300 units."
